a monster challenge

Great isn't he?

This is my monster puppet. He has a cardboard mouth and round plastic eyes hidden below those bushy black eyebrows and he works like a real muppet. When I start school in September, he'll be coming with me and I'll be using him in all sorts of ways to teach across the curriculum.

There's just one problem. He doesn't have a name. So I'm throwing it out to anyone who reads this.... your suggestions please...

Criteria:
1. Clean suggestions only please
2. Remember I teach 5-7 year olds so the name has to be easy for them to say and write
3. 'He' isn't necessarily a 'he'
4. No names of kids who are or may be in my class (granted, you won't know this but if you think you've suggested the best name in the world ever and I ignore it, maybe that's why?

So... get creative...

  1. Naomi suggests 'Borroso'. It's Spanish for 'fuzzy'!

  3. How about Mouse?
Well, it's grey and furry and that's the first name that popped into my head, well, after Cookie... Hmmm, cookies...

  6. I like Naomi's 'Borroso' and also Hugglewump! thats a great word. When I was running Tumble Tots classes I had two cuddly gorrilla assistants called Gordon and Mavis! They could persuade most children to have a go at an activity.

  7. I have to admit, I was also leaning towards a "Mugglewump" sort of name, I think it's Pooh's fault, with his Hefflelumps and Woozles. Weren't there stuffed toys when we were kids called Woozles? But they were weird conglomerates of animals, like a moose and a seal as one animal. I also have strong tendancies to try and make things have an "international" flavour! :D ~ Nomi

  8. Muggle-wump is the name of the monkey in The Twits by Roald Dahl.

Thanks for all the suggestions :o)
